Englander pellet stoves are renowned for their efficiency and reliability, but understanding their control boards is essential to ensure the best performance. This blog will guide you through resetting and reprogramming your Englander control board and provide an overview of proper settings for various models. Let’s dive in!
Reset Procedure for Standard Englander Control Boards
If your Englander pellet stove features a side-mounted control board, follow these steps to reset it:
(1) Reboot the Control Board
Unplug the power cord from the unit.
Plug the power cord back in and, within 5 seconds, simultaneously press and release the three bottom buttons on the touchpad.
The control board will display “F-S”, then typically revert to “1-1”.
Allow the display to go completely blank before unplugging the unit again.
(2) Reprogram the Profile
Plug the power cord back in.
Quickly press the Blower Speed UP/DOWN arrows simultaneously and release.
The default profile will appear on the Heat Range display for approximately 5 seconds. (This may be displayed as a letter, such as "A," or a number, such as "3.")
Use the Heat Range UP or DOWN arrow while the profile is displayed to select the correct profile for your stove model.
Once set, the control board will return to its Heat Range and Blower Speed settings.
(3) Adjust Trim Settings
Press each button in turn to check the lower three trim settings. The settings will appear in the Blower Speed display.
Adjust the settings as follows:
Use the blower speed controls for boards with letter profiles (A, B, C, D).
For boards with number profiles (1-9), press BOTH UP arrows together to increase or BOTH DOWN arrows to decrease.
Refer to the chart below for proper presets for each model.

Troubleshooting Tips
Unresponsive Controls
If the control board does not respond to the reset procedures, verify the power supply and check the fuse to see if it is good.
Incorrect Heat Output
Ensure the profile and bottom settings match your stove’s specifications.
Fluctuating Performance
Double-check trim settings and recalibrate if necessary.
Why do Proper Settings Matter?
Accurate Englander control board settings ensure efficient fuel use, consistent heat output, and prolonged pellet stove life. Improper configurations can reduce performance and result in excessive pellet consumption and unnecessary wear and tear.
